Ooooh, I don't like posting here with a negative, but feel I should pass along this experience. I bought this boulder opal:

The photos show the chips and cracks, and generally poor finishing. But--it was cheap and I figured cleaning it up a bit would be good practice. What the photos didn't show is that it is generally dull brown with a bit of pattern--the colors and description show it with purple flash. This may exist in some light, but not mine.
I sent the following to the seller:
Dear rockncrystalgems,
I received the purchased opal today. Although It was very inexpensive, and I suspect I got my money's worth (no more, no less), I am disappointed by the lack of color. Even with an opti-visor I cannot detect the colors that your photos show.

The camera we use is Sony!!But as stated on EBAY all our Pics are ZOOooMED in for YOU!! Even the DUST is pic up.. So IT IS IDENTICAL!! We don't do any fancy foot work with it. So I suggest you zoom in on Fluorescent lighting and/or Sunlight.. you will receive the same as we have, it takes me 2 hours to make about 50 pics of each opal that's why we SAY to email for MORE pics or any questions!! If you donot like the Opal, that's FINE..but please don't like it because you were mislead, We would GLADLY refund ALL your money BACK, I do have an offer for it, so no harm is done.. But donot try to insult us, and our hard earned items, If you would like to take this up with Ebay, I'd Gladly stand behind our DEFENSE.. I don't have a bad attitude, but how dare you come at me with that attitude, you will NEVER pay as little for that KIND of Opal or the amount for that KIND of Opal!! Or the HAND WORK that was done to THAT Kind of Opal..If you want perfect then go to siriousblack He's GOOD! As a matter of fact, We will refund your money back, Just send our baby back home.. And I'll show you what a REAL Wire Artisan can do with that KIND of Opal, I feel so insulted I think I'll take it up with Ebay!!! Just because you see a negative feedback don't mean it was deserving, remember she wanted what you INSULTED.. our ITEMS! We're not trying to get rich off of Ebay.. Just make room for our NEWBORN, that don't include Free Insults whenever you can get it in.. Your the ONLY one with a COMPLAINT! And just because we love and respect people doesn't mean we are yours or ANYONE'S to INSULT! Criticism We Learn and Grow on..It was worth 4.25 no more No less.. You GOT to be kidding ME!! Oh yeah we'll let Ebay JUDGE this one!You want to come with an excuse to leave a negative or neutral feedback.. Go right ahead! Brightest Blessings~
