Thanks, All, for your thoughts. I likewise have had mostly positive experiences with Ebay. And Curt--the evil portion of my brain loves your suggestion. I won't do it, but I will smile to myself every time I think about it!

Another thing I look at when buying from an unfamiliar vendor is comments they leave when they receive negative feedback. Obviously it is better if they don't have any, but sometimes buyers' expectations are unreasonable. Unreasonable or not, the sellers response had better not be combative, or I take my shopping elsewhere. Just found one like this a few weeks ago, I willnot be buying from her...

How Dare You Come here to attack me.. First and foremost why don't you show your listening audience all of the emails, Look at You.. Nothing honest about You.. You knew I just had a Baby, And my son was only about a month or two old. If that.. So How Dare you Come here to Smear My Name! A Very Nice customer who once had a problem with me, Read this, here. as Well. "Two Years Later" he felt obligated to tell me. This will be reported, Lady! no matter how long it's been! It would of been nice to tell the whole truth. But that's fine. Because Truth and Honesty will prevail! You knew you were blocked that's why you couldn't come back, You're Grimy and to all the Big Men on this forum who was ready and willing to jump all over a Woman at her most sensitive time.. Here I am! You see, Susan knew this, She also knew of me. Before buying the Opal, You see "Group Thinkers" are much like stalkers they sit back waiting to strike because you will not be part of their brainwashed club. So her intentions were to leave feedback that was negative regardless, Wonder how I knew so much, oh but you didn't get the whole memo, And as a woman I don't feel obligated to tell you, Especially "That's why I don't shop at Ebay" Mentality. Don't go there with me, You really think she didn't send her opal back because you gave her such "Good Advice"?! hmph! It's Best to know the whole story before leaving feedback! You know in your Hearts this didn't make sense, Not only did she know I was a new mommy but she purposely Edited the Email to look like a Victim O___O! Brightest Blessings~

That reply calls for a neg. The entire concept of grading is based on 'experience' with the transaction. That includes both product and interaction. That interaction deserves to be flagged (with a neg). I think people are too touchy about that sometimes and let people off too easy. All he had to do was say 'sorry youre not happy, would you like a refund' - that simple. And proper considering some customers are just looking for a reason to fight - you absolutely cannot satisfy them and so as a seller it's not so smart to spend that much effort acting that defensive.
Anyway, that's just my opinion - I have sold a bit under my own eBay account and a LOT under a business account when I was with someone who had a business they ran through eBay. Of course that was back in the days when eBay gave a damn. I would give them a neg lately if I could.

Guys, I have no idea what all the fuss was two years ago, and frankly I don't care. I doubt it has much relevance today. I don't see that this person participated in the thread two years ago, but I suppose they could have deleted their remarks, or maybe I just don't see it. How can we be so certain that this person hasn't misunderstood, and thinks the complaints are recent? Misunderstanding the dates of the posts in a thread has happened before hasn't it? It wouldn't be the first time someone accidentally raised a dead horse would it? Whatever this is about, and maybe I don't understand the whole story, it seems to me a little civility is called for. Or I don't know what I'm talking about, in which case you can trash me now if you like, I can take it.
