I did two batch's of Recycled Bottle Glass. There is two batch's that were Tumbled. The first batch I used my recycled 90 Grit I saved from my rock tumbles. I added a good size cup of Play sand purchased from Home Depot. Added water and let the glass go for 1 1/2 weeks rgh. Second batch I used a small bag of medium grit. The 2nd batch didn't finish drying on some of the pieces. The grit came from a yard sale left over bags from a plastic beginners tumbler. I feel you could most likely throw just about anything course in with the glass. Depending on what you want the glass to look like. My wife likes the way the glass looks. It surely reminds her of picking it up on the beach. The play sand cakes on the bottom of tumbler. I do stop at times to shake the Barrel to mix up the play sand. I bought the Play sand to fill leather pocket books. I use three bags for support for my Lampworking to hold up my arms as I work glass in the flame. Note I do fill a zip lock type plastic bag filled with sand then into pocket book. I use the sand in containers to hold up mandrels and glass rods. I also use the sand in bags for Planishing metal Jewelry. I'm always on the look out for Pocket books. Yes I do get the good ones for next to nothing. My wife sometimes say's no sand in that one for now. Have a Great Day, Cliff Attachments:
