This is the nicest piece of opal that I have found to date. I found it in Coober Pedy in the mid 80's. Since then it has travelled with me all around Australia and lived in our fishtanks or with a few mates under the bed, my wife used to know it as the blob.I got brave and finished it off after getting a bit of advice from an older opal miner & cutter. Its solid colour except for a couple of lighter areas and over an inch long. I have good plans for this gem...ppork

That is one beautiful opal. I can understand why it took you so long, I am still working up the nerve to practice on the pieces you sent me!

Amber I would have picked up that stone to do more on it maybe 30 times or more and never had the nerve. I had cleaned it up and rough shaped it in the 80'sWhen I started again it was very softly and slow...ppork
