I've been running the little Raytech for about 6 mos and recently its behavior has changed. It used to just vibrate nicely but now the head seems to be doin the hula, gyrating around. Anyone familiar with this condition? What should I look for when I tear it apart tonight? Thanks in advance

My tv-10 needs to be screwed down quite tight to stay put. I have two nuts on the center threaded rod, the lower is turned tightly down against the washer at the center of the bowl then a second is locked against it from above as I read this was a good idea on here a week or so ago. That seems to hold it very tight, but if I ever had problems I would either add a third nut from the bottom underneath the bowl or replace the nuts and rod altogether with new. good luck! ~Rock

Thank you for your reply...i have the base secured to my bench, and I run a nut down on the bowl itself, plus the nut to hold the cover on. Its been running fine for months, but now, the head is moving in this gyrating motion and its reducing the churning motion of the rocks inside. It must be something mechanical that has failed, maybe a broken spring, now that I think of it. I check it out.

That was happening to mine, then I figured out I was over filling the bowl. I was filling it up to near the top as I had been reading on here to fill it up nearly to the top. But when I filled it to just below the raised part in the center the rocks really started to whip around like I thought they should. Good luck!
