About 9 years ago I went collecting up at Carterville GA near the barite mines. One mine was called the Paga Mine. My wife and I found some pretty nice barite specimens at the mine. When we arrived at the location to park, a jet black runt of a kitty came out of a stack of old pallets and was meowing at the top of his lungs, pro bally hungry and thirsty too. We gave him some and went on to the collecting site. Done our digging and came back for lunch. He was still there, meow! meow! MEOW !! Wanted more food and drink. Gave him some more, and went back thru the woods to collect more barite crystals. Late in the evening, we gathered up our tools and specimens, going back to the truck. There he was, still wanting more. He was skinny, and to young to be own his own and no houses nearby, had to be a throw-away. I could not leave him there. So we put him into the cab of the truck and to Carrollton we went. The little runt meowed like crazy and watched the cars and houses all the way home. We named him Paga for the mine. He would just barely make a squeak when he wanted your attention. He never meowed again until two weeks ago, he was hurting. We found out he had a brain tumor and had kidney failure. He was so cool, could tell time almost exactly (time to eat the good stuff), and he was his own kind of cat. It has really hurt, loosing him this morning. He died peacefully without any pain or any more suffering. I am going to miss my Mr Paga very much !!!

Oh man. My heart goes out to you. I am a cat lover. We have two Asian Leopard cats. They live indoors and we are their humans. If anything happened to Ralph, I do not know how I would handle it. Of all the miserable things in life, he is my joy. I am sure Paga was the same to you. He chose you for a reason, and it looks like the reason was served. Not a lot of folks can say that. I feel, both encouraged, and saddened by your loss. Cats are my only friend.

I'm sorry your friend, Mr Paga, passed on. I hope that your greiving is eased by the memories that you treasure.
It is said that there is a rainbow bridge that they cross and that when it is our time to pass on, they come to the bridge to greet us.

Sorry to hear about your rock friend. That is a cool story about how you came to adopt him. I'm sure he would have had a shorter life had you not been so kind as to take him in.

Oh, I am so sorry for your loss Frankie! I think your Mr Paga knew he found a good family and stayed put to be rescued that first meeting! I have cats and dogs so I understand what you are going through! We have one cat left. Our Miss Kitty died last year suddenly. She was my son's cat and he still misses her. They are so curious and it is really missed when they are no longer there to check and see what you are up to. My heart goes out to you! Fran

What you did for that little kitty was so wonderful. He had a great life after you rescued him. Sorry for your loss but without you he would have suffered a terrible fate.

Thanks to all you folks for your kindness. Mr Paga was part of the family even thou he was extremely independent. I slept on my side and many many nights, sometime during the night, he would get up on my side and "make biscuits" as I call it wanting a pet and love session. He was a mess !! "Again Sincere Thanks to All of You"
