I have been feeling rough for about a week aching all over and BAD headaches and started running a fever went to the Dr. today found out I have Rocky Mountion Spotted Fever. It's no fun so while everyone is rock hunting watch out for ticks. If you get one and have any problems have your self checked out. Keith

Oh, that sucks! We have pulled 2 ticks off of David in the past week. Tiny ones so I guess they are deer ticks. I put them in tape just in case he has after effects. Take care of yourself Keith! Fran

Bummer. I have a friend who's going through treatment for Lyme disease. Gotta watch for those tics. Nasty little vampires that carry all sorts of bad stuff. Hope they caught yours early. Don

Hang in there Keith. I don't mind ticks, but the more diseases I hear of them carrying, the less I like them. A friends husband had lime disease last year. Didn't sound too fun either...

Just wanted to let everyone know that I am still kicking ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) . Went back to the Dr. today and he said that the worst is over but it will take a while to get back my strength back. Thanks everyone for their concern. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Keith

I got nailed by a Brown Recluse when I lived in the Keys. It took Acetone, steel wool, and scouring out the wound daily to get it. Took about 6 weeks of digging. Another example, small things deliver big issues sometimes. The Rocky Mountain Fever sucks. Glad you made it.

I think I'm going to stop complaining about mosquitos...
I'm glad you're getting better, Keith. I've found a few ticks on my wife during our years of hiking, but we've been fortunate to avoid the nastier effects...(still they give me the heebie jeebies - I mean they bury their head in you!)
This thread has made me itchier than any other...
