hi, i'm a little behind on my pics as i'm on broadband right now and its rather slow... now i remember why i got rid of dial up.......... lol We left tony's and went on to boise to meet up with jason. Here some pics of the trip between gooding and boise. snake river and lots of nothing....... lol    then on to oregon beautiful scenery    booming town of unity....... i bet the homes are cheap here...lol   more wide open spaces  getting close now......  cool old barn, i think this would make a nice painting, if i knew how to paint......  Quick picture of bambi at 50mph....   Time to go left at the fork in the road..........  We make it..........  |

How is the weather there? I just checked the forecast for Madras. Boise lows probably don't seam so cold now. See ya in a couple days.

The worse part of that show for us was every morning at 6:00 am this idiot would blast over the intercom "Good morning rockhounds. Time to wake up and sell some rocks" . I wanted to choke the guy. Good luck and ok "SELL SOME ROCKS".

someone did choke him........ i didn't hear a word this morning and i got up early on purpose just to hear it.... lmao
look forward to seeing all of you on friday.
If the rest of the show is anything like today..... oh boy are we in trouble.... were gonna be bringing home all our rocks plus the one i bought. lol

Hey the weather is good, so maybe the buyers are just a wee bit slow getting started. I usually spend most of the first day just looking, and buy later. This year, I am just home whining about not being there.

I went to Madras yesterday and picked up a slug of Thundereggs from a good friend of mine. The show seems better this year than last, however I can't believe the prices anymore! I love Prineville, and Madras show and maybe I look at it with a dealers perspective as I'm used to buying wholesale and I sell to my customers at great prices... but man alive everything I looked out I swore had a piece of gold hooked to it somewhere. Also I notice a very high percentage of dealers had the same thing... It appears many shopped at the same dealer down in Tucson or Quartzite LOL - just wasn't a huge variety.
On the other hand though there was two new dealers to the shows from Pakistan/Afghanistan or somewhere in the sane dunes.. and they had fantastic specimens of Aquamarine and other gemstones... Again though you had to take out a loan to bring a piece home.
After I spent some money at the show and got bored and headed back north to The Dalles, I did stop at Richardson's and got the latest jokes as well as hit the Plume Bed... That's right - John cleaned out and opened the Plume Bed for digging... It's something you want to spend some time digging and bring heavy tools if you plan to dig the floor... However there's some nice eggs coming out in the decomposed layer between the bedrock and perlite.

mel.... i'm sorry i don't have too many pics of rocks but i'm on this boardband and takes forever to download them to photobucket..... you might have to wait until i get to a better connection somewhere...........
