Hi guys, I have not posted on here for a while because I had important personal issues. Long story short I decided I didn't care if I graduated or not and started failing all my classes, which paid off for me because they sent me to a continuation school where I finished my credits and graduated within a semester. The problem I had is pretty common in schools now. So much of the "Learning" you do is just rote memorization or busy work or prep time or other BS like that that a lot of kids, including but not limited to the best and brightest at out schools, just decide that jumping through all the stupid hoops just to graduate is not worth it. The school districts solution is to send all these kids to a school where the work is so easy that you can finish 3 years worth of work in a semester without even trying, like I did. Anyway, I am back, and I look forward to being part of the community again.

Good to see ya back "Joe" LOL. Congratulations on finishing school, although I don't necessarily agree with how you did it. But if you're personally responsible enough to be self sufficient, that's all that matters.

I dont agree with the way I graduated either. In fact it really pisses me off that that is how the school system works. They make everyone come to school and manipulate everyone into being little robots and make everyone think that all they have to do is get good grades and go to college and the rest of their life will turn out like a fairy tale, and the ones who dont buy into their BS get sent to diploma mills so that the school system can get rid of them as quickly as possible.

I see we agree! That's a perfect example of "no child left behind"... Again, welcome back. My daughter cabbed a piece of the root beer agate you gave away, and we have some larger pieces in 2 of our fish tanks. It's pretty cool !! Nate

Dont even get me started on that standardized testing bullshit.
I am glad you are enjoying your root beer agate. I found a nice variety at the same place that I cant get out because it is in a vein at least 3 feet thick and solid. I live that root beer agate best when it is in small peices because when the light hits a piece that is not fractured it is pretty nice.

Glad you graduated but that is not the best way to do it. Now, you can do what you want. If it involves more education, you can take the classes you are interested in. Trade schools are great too! What matters is that you make a path for yourself that feels right for you. Welcome back! Fran

I'd love to see a 3' vein of agate in the mountains! Around here it's all limestone - lots of gravel pits. And I mean road gravel (I think they call it aggregate), not the cool agate/jasper etc gravel like west of here.
