These cabs were cut from the material collected at Woodward Ranch last March. I'm always amazed by the variety of agates that can be found there. Each time I go it seems I find something I haven't seen before. Some dark agate w/gold and red mossy plumes.. cut from a "biscuit" nodule "Flower Garden" Loose Filament Red Moss These were cut from a tube I found... I decided to cut it in pickle slices and the cabbed 'em... I kind of like the quartzite druz... but it's much softer than the surrounding agate... backlit ...end of the tube. Classic Red Plume Agate... nowhere but Texas. My favorite of the group... Have to apologize for the glare on this one.... I still can't figure out how to take a decent picture of my cabs... Interesting mix of materials here... Agate, Hematite and Basalt... no telling what else... looks like algae... lol... A busy plume garden... OK... this one is crazy... looks like Jasper huh? The ranch owners say there is NO jasper there at all... they also say there is no green agate there either... looks green to me Tightly packed Red Moss in translucent agate... This material was new to me... I had not collected any on my previous trips. Red Moss w/Yellow fortifications... The ranch owners tell me that there is over 60 different types of agate to be found there... and I'll keep looking for them all! Hope y'all enjoyed.... Dan

Dan, have you not heard? Woodward Ranch has been picked clean. There isn't anything left. I heard several people say that at the Alpine show.

Really great cabs Dan. The tube cabs are so cool looking and the moss agates are awesome.

Thank you gents... John - I keep hearing that and it makes me laugh everytime Let me guess... the folks telling you that were from Walker and Ritchie Ranch eh? lol... On the last trip I found several seams still uncovered on the East side and there is still plentry of surface material to be found as well. I have to admit that finding large biscuits on the surface is difficult but I know where to look for them now...

Dan: They are all so cool, now the tough part is deciding which ones to set in silver, better do all of them

I'd believe 60 types easy! fantastic cabs. I especially like the red moss on the yellow agate and the peanut agate grading into red moss....Mel

Awesome cabs, Dan! Great variety indeed, and also excellent shape and finish on all of them.

That is an awesome bunch of cabs there. I love the vareity of material all from one general location. I really the the tube ones with the quartz center, and the one with the green. One of these days I'll get out there.

That's quite a variety Dan. You have done a fantastic job on them too. I'm sure no one here will tell them you found green agate and jasper there. Wouldn't want to argue with the owners lol.
