... I have eventually sucumbed to the frequent requests for some pictures to support my alleged bike ride.
So here goes, the first ones to come out are of me in the earlier days of the journey.
You will notice I'm still in what could be classed as typical english clothing, and as time progresses so does my attire.
I will try to make comments as I go along, and hopefully you'll not get too bored in the process.
Unfortunately, in the process of the journey I had a major 'puter crash and lost access to some of the earlier pictures so thos of me leaving england are not currently available, however, they are retrievable and will be done when I eventually get home.
I entered mainland Europe from Calais in France, all those pictures are not available, so I can only start from Belgium. I am in some of the pictures, but because I'm taking them I can't be in them all. Most are only images I captured as proof (to my friends in England) of where I actually was at the time.
I left France and entered into Belgium. No longer are the border crossings there, nor are the border guards. the only thing to indicate that you had crossed the border was a small sign.
While in Serbia, one late evening I was looking for somewhere to camp, and asking in the villiage shop if the girl spoke english, this guy walked in. his name is Darko. He told me there was no need for me to camp that night because I could sleep in his house. My first experiance of the kindness given by all the Serbians I met.
Not only did Darko give me somewhere to sleep that night, he even introduced me to some of his friends. I can't remember their names, but there are 2 Croatians, a Serbian and a Bosnian (all had been at war against each other) and myself.
The first picture shows myself, the two Croatians, and Darko.
This next picture shows Darko and the Bosnian. Darko had captured the Bosnian during the war and that is how they eventually became friends.
From Serbia I entered Bulgaria for the first visit.
From entering Bulgaria at Negotin I followed the Black Sea coast line until reaching the Bulgaria/Romania border crossing on the River Danube at Ruse.
Some Pictures from Romania and my meeting Adrian, and subsequent leaving pictures are posted on another thread.
Part 2 pictures to follow ...

From Belgium into Germany
And the German side
Seems the Germans had heard about my diet, and were prepared for my entering. The sign actually says 'Good bye and have a good journey.'
And from Germany into Austria
From Austria into Slovakia
And from Slovakia in Hungary
Hungary into Serbia
