...
My first introduction to a Serbian, and other eastern european style toilets/WC/bathroom. Quite simple to use. You will notice the groved areas on either side. Irrespective of the size or sex of the user, so long as you placed your feet in the groved areas you will always reach the target.
Lepenski Vir, in Serbia, on the River Danube. At this point the Danube narrows to less than 100 meters wide, and is almost twice as deep. This is also known as The Iron Gates. Both Lepenski Vir, and the Iron Gates can be found by googling.
A Mig 21 - Fishbed at Festeti in Romania. Now just a monument, but the Romanian Airforce used to have a base at Festeti, and Mig21's were produced there.
Typical Communist statue in an Hungarian village - The strength of the common worker will defeat all in battle.
The River Danube, at one of it's widest points, in the Danube Delta just before Constanta in Romania. At this point the river is nearly 400 meters wide.
I've tried searching the web for details of why, but can't find anything to explain - perhaps Adrian could help out here.
Romanian village names? Strange but true, and these are not the only ones with dates as a village name.
I was stopped at a Romanian Police Road Check, the young policeman asked me how the camera worked and then called his friend over to start taking pictures before handing the camera back and sending me on my way.
Romanian Navy at their Secret Naval Base near the village of 2 Mai
Pictures of some of the mountains I have encountered. Might not seem too bad, but after a while you get sick of taking photos of mountains and just give up.
I slept here one night
and just here as it is, on another night
My last night in Romania was spent in a lovely location just on the cliff tops right beside the Black Sea. This picture shows the lovely view I had from my bedroom.
I was going to have some breakfast before leaving, but this little bug beat me to it.
and just to give some idea of how small it was ...
And finally, just a few pictures of yours truely along the route ...
There are dates on the pictures, but I have not placed them in date order.
Goodnight, godbless and stay safe peoples. This is a great world we live in.
