I spent all day just going around and around, but I did accomplish something....these cabs! Kazakhstan Dendritic Agate. 2-1/2" in diameter. Bruneau Jasper. 2-1/2" in diameter. Bob

Very nice round cabs. You have two votes, one for the Kazakhstan Dendritic Agate - Tom and one for the Bruneau Jasper Debby. We do like both of them. Debby and Tom

They're both beautiful, but I'm a dendrite fool first & foremost!

I just did a round cab too. Its probably the toughest shape to get right. I'm not going to chose a favorite as I love them both.

Awesome cabs Bob. Any tips on how to maintain the perfect round shape?
Yours are so perfect, I hope to cut round cabs like these in the future.

Geoff, The way that I use to keep them round when I cab them is to draw the outline with a template using a slim clear line. When I am grinding to the outline I am careful not to grind the line away but just up to it. I also frequently compare the cab preform to the template and make minor corrections as I go along. When I'm finished grinding I do just the minimum sanding on the girdle to remove the grind marks. This has worked well for me. Bob

Awesome circles Bob. I like the dendritic, but the rich colors of the bruneau really draw me in. I tried to make a circle with the electric drill once with bad results. Gonna have to try again one day.
