I think it is telling you to make sure your rough does not hit the flanges as it will stop your saw and damage the drive system. I am thinking you have one that was specially made for a school or something. The belt cover is larger than the normal ones and it has stickers and instructions that seem to indicate it was made for a school environment.
Does it have a metal or plexiglass hood? I got one with a plexiglass hood and the old gentleman who sold it to me said they were called the teaching models, but it did not have the extra belt guard or the stickers.
Have a great day..............Tony

The hood is metal on this saw.The belt guard is identical to Bobby's saw, except smaller, made out of some kind of plastic,I guess,as was the gear cover from the small pieces that were on there.Anyway, the bottom of that notice seems to say no additional grease. Thanks,Tony.

My old 20" HP had a metal hood and did have grease fittings ( zerks) on the arbor bearings that needed periodically to have grease squirted into them....Mel

I answered my own question on this.I took sandpaper and sanded it down, could finally read it. Said, notice, keep rock above flange, bearings are sealed in grease and require no additional greasing.

My 20" Hp had the original plugs where the zerks go ................In the instruction sheet that came with the saw is a big stamp that says the bearings are factory lubricated, and sealed, but require lubrication approximately every 1000 hours. of use. So................if you have zerks, somebody has already greased it. If, however there are no zerks, it needs both zerks, and grease. You can not grease the bearings without zerks. Woody
