www.waymarking.com/default.aspx?f=1I don't know if anyone has talked about this here, but it might give some people a few clues on local (or not local) neat places to find rocks, minerals, fossils etc. We geocache, and this is sort of an off-shoot program from it. Here people tell where to find neat, odd, historical things..just about anything. If you dig through the catagories there are ones like "Geological location," "Caves" and other things that might pop up as intersting to rock hounds. I found one place kind of close to me that said it is a ledge and rock formations formed by the glaciers. You'd have to play and find out how to put in your locations..for me I just had to pull up a cache I did and hit "nearest waymarks" and it give me a list of the nearest half a million or so. (too bad only 2 were in the catagories I was looking for..lol) Good luck!
