It looks like "stonesthatrocks" beat me to posting the info for Contin'tail. If anyone is interested, there are actually four gem and mineral shows this month in Colorado.
Creede: August 6-8
This show is a real hoot since it's in the Underground Mining Museum. There are also plenty of rockhounding activities in the area. They usually have some great presentations Friday and Saturday nights.
Buena Vista: August 12-15
Colorado's largest outdoor show. Something like 120-150 vendors. Just be prepared for the weather. If you don't like it, wait 5 minutes and it's guaranteed to change.
Woodland Park: August 19-22
A new show organized by several of Colorado's rock show veterans. The location is the Woodland Park Saddle Club between Safeway and Wal-Mart. Look for the signs. Guaranteed to be a "Must Visit Rock Show".
Lake George: August 20-22
Just down the road from Woodland Park. So on Friday to Sunday, you can be in gem and mineral show utopia by visiting both shows.
