Hi everyone, These days I made two cabs, a sodalite and an unknown rock. Firstly, the unknown: Is this some sort of coral? Any ID is welcome. And the sodalite, I like the blue in this one: And here's the Bruneau. The piece is too thin to cab, and besides I think the pattern has its charm as it is now, not split in smaller areas: Thanks for looking, Adrian

That is a sweet piece of Bruneau. I wouldn't cab it either.

Great looking cabs Adrian! That first one is sagenite of some kind which is usually a chalcedony pseudomorph after some sort of acicular crystal growth, perhaps after aragonite. There is a Mexican variety dealers sometimes call "palm jasper" that looks very much like your example but it's not really palm but rather a variety of sagenite.....Mel

The shape of the first cab really struck me and the polish on the bruneau, I say glue a bail on and wear it as is, LOL

Thank you all. Mel, thank you for the ID. You not only know every rock's name, but also its "history". Amber, Lol, it's too big to be worn! Brent, I use diamond pads for polishing, but this time I completed it with cerium oxide on leather. Adrian

I love that saginite! It sure has some beautiful sprays in it! I think Maryann is right about the blue. It looks like Chilean lapis to me and I just always love the bruneaus! Fran
