If you desire making jewelry pieces out of tumbled stones, I suggest purchasing a small drill press and some diamond drills. Devise a way to keep the piece submerged in water during drilling. Then put holes in pieces--before they go into the tumbler. Afterward, you can solder or wrap sterling silver links through the stones and wear them. For earring hoops and neck chains and the like, try Santa Fe Jeweler's Supply, Rio Grande, or the like. Kingsley North sells tools pretty reasonably, but for the sterling go with Santa Fe or Rio Grande. I am not an admirer of bell caps and other findings made out of cheap base metal. It's all about those beautiful stones, eh?
P.S.--Extend the rough grind stage of the tumbling to at least a month. Ignore the times given in the instructions that come with the tumblers. C.a.

Hi ;D, In case anyone asks..they're called findings And try www.tripps.com/index.php also Yes grit is usually cheaper online, but shipping may bring it right back to local prices... there's a whole thread on grit pricing and where to go. Keep us posted on your progress, Dr Joe .
