Didn't want to make a massive mess with the expensive wire, so I used copper 21 ga. square and 1/2-round. I guess it's done, and I'm glad I did it, but I made so many mistakes that in places it looks like it got stepped on or something! LOL! Anyway, the stone is a rhodonite cab that I didn't have any particular plans for. Oh, and yes, I know it's not centered - figured that out too late in the process. But this one's just for "OJT", not going on anyone's wrist! I used Lori's excellent tutorial and tried to do it exactly like hers (minus the twisted wire), but somehow, Lori's came out a lot nicer than mine! Thanks for looking Tom

Thanks, y'all! I appreciate the kind words.
Right now, I'm scratching around for ideas of what I can make from a big handful of polished obsidian "sticks" - they are about 1.25" long, by .25" square, and are beautifully tumble-polished. There are probably 25 of them or so. I need to make something with them, but I'm fresh out of ideas.

Tom, how about tree ornaments. You can swirl wire around and it would look nice contrasting against the shiny volcanic glass of the obsidian.

Yea Tom! You did a great job on that. You can fix the off centeredness very easily if you want. Very gently, you can slide the set wrap down the wires of the bracelet by coaxing the binding wires that are holding the wrapped stone in place. Do this while the bracelet is unlatched. You may need to reshape the band after but the wrap you did is so worth it.
This is the third bracelet that I have seen from the tut so thank you so much for posting.

That's a good idea, Jo - but in this case, these pretty much have to be some kind of dress accessories - it's part of an exchange deal I made.
I'm thinking of maybe drilling each one on the end, glueing in an eye-post, then stringing them with beads between to make a necklace thingy. Or something along those lines.

I hope this doesn't push your head over the edge, but I am joining in the sea of compliments. I've bought the wire to do a bracelet, but haven't taken the plunge yet, and you have given me hope! I made a pin awhile back with dangling "long and skinnies." With some work, it would be passable. Later tonight I will e-mail you a photo. Then, if it helps your creative thoughts, I will bore you with the details of all that went wrong. Susan

If you make a necklace out of the obsidian sticks save a couple to make matching earrings. Or you could drill both ends and make a bracelet with the sticks running vertically and beads in between each stick .
I really like the bracelet.

Hubby and I just started wire wrapping. Looks like it would be really cool. For a first effort, yours looks great!
