After reading a post here (thank you to whomever posted it) I bought the Gryphon Gryphette Grinder. Great little too, really helps smooth out my preforms before I begin polishing. I'm now adding the Groove Grinder bit, and a face shield that also magnifies your work.
This is really a question, not really home made equipment, but I didn't know where to post this.
I'm trying to find out if anyone has added a foot switch to their grinder. I'm tempted to do so with this grinder. Any suggestions?

I'm not familiar with the Gryphon grinders. Are they variable speed ? If so, the foot switch/ speed control from an old sewing machine would probably work. Don

None of the Gryphon grinders (or saws) are variable speed. I would check with Gryphon before adding any speed control. Most variable speed controllers are wired in after the rectifier (which makes he dc motor run on ac). If the motor has brushes it will run on a speed control but will usually run hotter and with less power.
