I noticed most people only use 3 wires w/a thin girdle on their stones. Since I fabricated my settings for years I made the girdles to fit my different size bezels. W/the cost of silver I'm thinking that thin girdles are the way to go. This is 18ga wire. Thanks for looking!!!

Nice wrap!
I also bundle the wires to the girdle thickness and don't skimp by just using 3 length of wire with exception of the very thin cabs that one thickness for the center wire will do.
I use mostly 21/22 awg wire for most all my wraps and then go smaller as the cab size goes down or the very fragile/thin small cabs are wrapped in 24 -26 awg wire.
the only time I use 18 awg is for bracelets and rings or wraps that need to be susbstantial.

I think it looks great the way it is but I know what you mean about the cost of the wire. I am going to try groove wrapping next to cut back on how much I use and see how I like that. Love the amy sage! Fran

Nice wrap. I like the design on the back of the stone better. I usually use 4 wires on the larger cabs and 3 on med. size cabs. Sometimes only 2 on small ones. My cabs tend to be fairly thin on the edges. I also use the 21G or 22G wire on the med and large cabs and the 24G on smaller ones. I have some 26G i need to try on a teeny one. If my eyes can handle it.
