I see a lot of slab and cab id's given as "echostone", but I have no idea what that term really means. Anybody, please?
Thanks,
Tom

As far as I know Echostones are a creation that was started by Steve Holmes that means a set with a cab and a polished stone of the same material. Keith

Thanks, Keith - that makes sense. And now that you've said it, I do remember a lot of "sets" like that in these threads - a cab and a slab of the same, together.
Thanks,
Tom

Steve had a contest about 1-1/2 ---- 2years ago to name his creation of a set of completed cab & polishied stone from same peice . Echostones was yhe winning suggestion . and it stuck . i think that if you go to one of Steveholmes post he has a link to his website . --paul

Glad to finally have a name for this. I do the same thing, but I save about 1" of end nub and polish the cut face. That and a cab of the same material make great teaching aids when working with kids. They get to see what the stone looks like in the rough, and cabbed. I put on a display and talk for the local Girl Scouts about twice a year. Don

Tom, I think everyone answered correctly. Most definitely not a new concept but I sure enjoy doing the sets. It is true I held a naming contest and the prize was a set and some goodies...and Matt (textiger) won. Still LOVE the name. I have many of my sets on my website. Feel free to go take a looksy...
