what this stone may be called? I found a small chunk of it in a box of rocks I received in a trade, and thought it interesting. Hmmm... I deal in imported Japanese koi. There are over 130 named "varieties" of koi (based on pattern and color). However, since these fish do not breed true, there are a near unlimited amount of koi that don't fit in any of these categories, and so are simply called Kawarigoi (basically, anything that doesn't have a name). I wonder if this is true with small and unique rocks??? LOL Bill

What else was in that box you made the trade for? Was it a mixture of material, or was it from a specific region? (ie could a locational clue be hidden in the other material in the box or was it a complete random mix?)
(Like the koi name!)

You know, I would think it is the Australian Opalite too. Was it kind of soft? No matter what it is, it is really beautiful! Fran
