I've been MIA for a couple month's but in July we fell into an opportunity to have our work in a new Jewelry store in one of the major malls and we've been busier than a pair of jumper cables at a redneck wedding making inventory. Express Jewelry and Watch Citadel Mall Colorado Springs, CO Here's a link to a slideshow of the opening day, August 1: smg.photobucket.com/albums/v682/rgcopeland/Express%20Jewelry%20and%20Watch%20Repair/

Wow, those are some beautiful displays. The two of you make a wonderful pair and your jewelry design is outstanding. What a great opportunity. Tanya

Great looking pictures and super inventory. Donna and I were in Colo. Spngs. in July and went to Cripple Creek but couldn't find any turquoise, just casinos. The rock shops in the area were a hugh disappointment, also. Ken

Thanks for the kind words. So far a couple pieces sold. Since the store opened a few days before the Labor Day weekend that's not too bad. We're hoping for a good Christmas season.
Ken,
Most of the turquoise is on private property or patented claims. Back when they used to have dirt roads they used to use gold mine tailings to grade the roads with and there was some turquoise in that. Every time it rained people would go out in the roads searching for turquoise. The gambling has taken over Cripple Creek and two other historic Colorado mining towns, Blackhawk and Central City. I don't think the townspeople thought about what they were doing when the voted in gambling. Now it's hard to recognize the old historic towns.

Hey! Yay! I sure wish you the greatest. I know it well, I really do. I can send a photo of my shop, but I do not know the sites for posting. I will try to use someone to post them up. A lot of work, and good job! I didn't know you were an Horologist also! I thought I was the only one dumb enough to do that. Great luck.

>>I didn't know you were an Horologist<<
Actually James and Susie pictured in the photo of all four of us are the store owners. James handles the watch and jewelry repair and we assist in sales and training them on the various stones. He has me doing the inlay and stone replacement and major silver work as well.

Rick, I sent some photos to ya. Hope they fit. Or even make sense. We have Cornholios for customers, lots of them. Your shop is prettier.
