3 beautiful wraps.......posted by Stonesthatrock recently The purpose is not to copy someone else' work, it was for me to try something new, playing with different textures on a wrap, seeing those 3 beautiful wraps just made me want to expand my horizons a little, and I hope I do not offend the artist who made them. Some things I learned: The weave needs round wire, on round wire. I did this with round on square, and it looks ok, but would look better the other way. It takes a LOT of wire - this is 4 pieces of square at 24 inches long to start the wrap, not including the binding or round wire on the weaves. Over-all I am happy with the end result, tho I know there is some improvement to be had in some areas, which I think could be fixed with round wire, and or coiling the wire to be woven. so here it is, again Thanks to stonesthatrock for posting those wraps, they have truely inspired me to move on from my norm, and step outside of the box when it comes to wrapping. Flail away folks....gimme the cruel truth about it! LOL Thanks for lookin' Marie

I like it. You have a lot of fancy stuff, but it doesn't detract from the stone. You can focus on either and appreciate both.

Marie, the only issue I have with it, is that I can't do it! Gorgeous wrap.

I like it too. I especially like the straight simple wire across the front's contrast to the ladder effect of the weaving. The circle of swirls at the bottom is a nice focal point as well.

OMG that is beautiful, you are a true artist. I think I will stay with plain and simple and admire your creations. Donna

I had a feeling that it had to be round wire. What gauge did you use for round? I am guessing smaller is better for weaving? I have tried some weaving, so far it just looks like a mess. Very nice job on that one. I disagree about the wire across the front. I think it looks out of place. (you said to be honest.) I love the rest of it though.

Wow! I think you did a great job Marie! It really looks like a difficult pattern to copy and you did a great job at figuring it all out! You didn't over power the stone either. Fran
