;)This past sat went to the Sadalia mine near Salida ,Co. and found some nice things!
location is at 9000 ft and is se about 35 miles from Mt Antero( mt in the background), the aquamarine place and on the other-side of the Arkansas river.
the site - 600 ft up and 1 mile walk
the collecting area is interesting
nice 3-1/2 inch almandine garnet
this one is about 4 inches
collecting was swing a hammer or just get down and stare at the tailings
all good polish or cab pieces
nice garnets in matrix

found lots of malakite
plate of malakite dropped from between two pieces of matrix - nice but how do I clean it to show more blue Green - very fragile
