to cut a thunderegg or agate in half, which measures 5x6x3 or 5x4x4 ?
I'm looking to get a saw, and I'm not sure if I can go with one of these 10 inch trim/slab combo saws, or whether I need a larger saw. I suppose that I'd want to be able to cut rocks in half which measured up to 5x6x8 or something like that. Thank you much for input!

You'd want at least a 16" saw. That will give you a 6 to 6-1/2" cut.

You can cut approx 1/3 the size of the blade height wise, on the length you can get more.

People rotate rocks on WorkForce tile saws to get beyond the 3" limit. I don't know that I would want to try it on a larger saw; besides, rotating won't give you as clean a cut on the T-Eggs.
So, I would opt for a larger saw. I've been really happy with what I can cut on my 18" saw.
