I had my rock display set up sat. at a flea market. A guy I know that works at a power plant came by and said they had piles of geodes with crystals inside that came out of the lignite coal they burned at the plant. Anyone have any idea what they could be? He said he would bring me some, but I've heard that before. Just curious. Thanks.

Do you know where the coal originates? Is it local or shipped in?
Intriguing question you have here!

At first, the coal was shipped in by train from Wyoming, I believe. Then they started digging it here locally. I'll have to find out more from him when I see him.Just checked and the coal comes from the Powder River Basin in Wyoming now.Dont know if the geodes or whatever came from that or the local.
