I haven't been doing much with rocks lately but did find time to go out to the Last Chance Community PowWow here. There were Native Americans from all over Montana and some from other NW states. It isn't a big powwow but it is cool. This tee-pee was set up inside the building at the front. Drummers and singers playing for the dancers A male dancer - this guy was a really good dancer and I think he won the male category in the competition. My lunch, a taco salad. Ok, so it wasn't a Native American dish but it was one of the only things on the menu aside from hot dogs. Yes, they had fry bread...yum. Nothing like fry bread with butter (or in this case liquid margarine) and honey. I had other pictures but most didn't come out, guess it really is hard to take non-blurry pictures of people dancing and moving around...lol.

It was fun and that fry bread was good. The music for the dancing was very cool although after a while the drumming was getting a little too much in the building. I thought there would be more Native American vendors and more vendors in general and it might be outside but it was still fun.

Very cool. We have lots of things with native american names here but no people. Looks like an interesting time. Thanks for the pics Diane.
