Hi again,
I am in the north of B.C., in the Peace River area, does anyone know of a good rock hounding site up here? I have collected a ton of fossils from dinosaur lake area, and being on the Peace River I've collected a few river rocks (yet to be identified as I'm an extreme newbie to this), but I imagine there has to be all sorts of stuff. The Rockies are near by, and the geographical changes from mountains South/West to the prairies of the East. Anything up the Alaskan Highway? I know the potential for gold panning, I might get into that in the summer next year.
Thanks
Ryan

The Prince George area is well known for Agates and Jaspers. Hixon Creek, Fraser River. What part of Peace are you in, St. John, Ft. Nelson? The Pink Mt. area looks like an good place.

I'm in good ol' Fort St. John. I'm very familiar with the Pink Mountain area, I've worked in there for a few years on and off. I'm thinking more of this rock hounding will have to wait until next summer now, time's running out for good weather. Does Hixon creek have the agates? I rolled my truck off the highway near Hixon! I make a few trips a year along the Fraser between Vancouver and John here, I'll have to make some more specific stops next time. I'm pretty new to rock hounding on a serious level, I've probably passed some jems and never known it.
