Boy you guys must be buying lots of square wire! Everyplace I've tried in the last week is totally sold out of 21,22 half hard OR soft square wire!

did you try rio grande? never heard of them being out, I very seldom use anything but 18 or 20 ga hh

This is where I get mine. Maybe you haven't tried these yet. I use 21 gauge wire for larger stones and 22 gauge for medium stones. The same gauge for the square and the half round. I have also used 24 gauge wire for really small stones. I get brass wire from beadstore.wigjig.com/Brass_Half_Round.html This is the only place I have found half round brass wire. cheap too. Sterling silver from www.monsterslayer.com this is good stuff, good prices, quick delivery, you can order any length you want, and they will give you credit for your scrap trimmings. I have bought copper and silver from www.brandywinejewelrysupply.com with no complaints. I have also bought silver and gold wire from www.firemountaingems.com with no complaints. You can also buy wire from www.Riogrande.com
