Steve your story is really great and that is one beautiful Agate. pleasing to the eye for all us Agate lovers. That Lil Ghoulie must be stuffed with Candy Corn. I am loving this competition, I think it is better that I don't cab and just get to observe.

How long is this contest on for and what's the rules? I will be making my very first cab tomorrow, I don't know if I will find anything suitable for halloween yet.

Go back to the competition page where it shows 'awards posted'. The rules are there. It goes until Halloween I believe. Hurry, Hurry, Hurry...don't wanna miss one of Dan's contests!

Okay, this is the best I can come up with without getting really involved and inlaying the pieces. This is a self collected New Mexico jasper(I'll call it "Pumpkin Jasper") cab with obsidian glued on for eyes and nose. Here's my entry  |

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Here's my entry. I'm calling it the Omniscient Eye. Based on the amount of time I've been cabbing, I will enter this into the advanced category. I just re-read the rules and I guess since it's been about a year and a half that I've been cabbing, I fit in the novice category still. So... I will change my entry to the novice category.  I believe this is Birds Eye Rhyolite, and the small slab this came from was given to me by Amber, and the shape was taken from the free templates from Tony. Guess those 2 really hooked me up today! Thanks Amber and Tony! My original cab I started on was a piece of prairie agate with a face in it, but I dropped it on the driveway and it busted  . Guess this slab had it's "eye" on me to pick it up... Nate
