I went to Ms Marie's rock yard sale today and of course, went broke! Most of these were collected and cut years ago by Ms. Marie or her husband. They did a lot of traveling to collect over many years and she is giving it all up. Said she is too old to keep up with cabbing and was selling all of her slabs, rocks and specimens. I know the name and location of some of these but if you have any idea, please let me know. This is the basket of slabs I got This first one I thought might be a lizard skin but when holding it up, I wonder if it is a jade? Some plumes Tube agate from Oregon Some kind of copper from Alaska Rolling hills dolomite Bruneau and Morrisonite Indian Writing rock from Baker, CA Spanish point agate, Montana Old Biggs Canyon Pet Wood and Biggs Teepee Canyon Hmmm, I think I had better post the rest tomorrow. There are a bunch! Thanks for looking! Fran

Boy Fran, You really SCORED big time! Lots of high quality slabs there. Love that Bruneau and Morrisonite. The Copper Alaskan slab looks great....and I would love a closer shot of that Pet Wood. That one looks quite interesting. I think your 1st one is Jade...and the last oneis Teepee Canyon. Great Stuff...can't wait to see some killer cabs. Steve

Nice slabs. The way I check for Jade is to rub a clean dry finger against a dry slab for a few seconds then rub it against your thumb. If it feels like there's wax on your finger it's Jade.

Incredible material and incredible prices. It looks like that slabs were priced out in the 70's and never updated. Nicle haul.
