Biggest problem in Texas is there isn't much public land. River beds at road bridges are public as are road cuts. I saw some really nice river worn agates in the Walmart parking lot planters in Marble Falls which made me want to do some searching next time I'm there. Nothing but limestone where my property outside Dripping Springs is. Good luck.

Tim, google up The Texas Road Runners, it will give you lots of places to look around Texas. Interesting reading and good information.

Tim, check your local gravel yards or gravel pits. Many of the gravel yards handle decorative gravels from the oversized piles of gravel pits along the Rio Grande River. These decorative mixes are full of pet wood, rhyolite and agate.....Mel
