Recently, I asked for anyone who had some Chevron Amethyst. Someone close to me has finally, after many years, taken the first step to quitting drinking, and has realized she needed help. She got the help, and is now 40 days sober. I want to make her something, to help her stay thinking on the positive side, and it requires Amethyst. I could probably use anything really, but that's what is normally is used. Tom -- tkrueger3 --- stepped right up and said he had a few pieces he had tumbled he would be willing to send me. Now, I was more than willing to buy an entire box full of Ammy to get a couple pieces I could cab for this pendant. Tom, Tom, Tom...I have said it b-4, I will say it again, you really are a sweetie, and I cannot thank you enough. Tom not only sent me the beautiful Pieces of Ammy he had....but he sent all this too.....no where near was I expecting this        ;D The Amethyst And these awesome slabs, that I hope I am able to justice to Thank you Tom. I love love love them all!! If I could I would wrap my arms around you and give you a great big Minnesota bear hug! Marie

I'm noticing in Marie's photos that some of the slabs are a LOT more fractured than I thought they were. Had I seen that, I would have picked different ones to send - Lord knows, I have enough! Hopefully, Marie, you can work around the fractures and get some good stuff out of them.

Thanks everyone! Paul, I will pass on your well wishes and support, she will certainly appreciate all the support she can get. Tom, I made preforms out of everything but the Ammy today....I will get those done tomorrow. Again, I cannot thank you enough for all these slabs, I did not expect all that...amazing. I am hoping to get the Cutting of the Ammy, and cabbing it as well done tomorrow...hopefully! Providing life doesn't get in the way!! hahahaha My "friend" is actually a family member, and the only one I am still close too, after I lost my grandmother. I have prayed and prayed for her, and finally, she found where her "rock bottom" was, thankfully it was b-4 losing everything she owned, and b-4 her family wrote her off. I am just so proud she finally went in to treatment. A huge load off my shoulders for sure, but I will still pray for her everyday....strength is what she needs. Alcoholism runs in my family, it's the one thing I am adament on staying away from, just because I like it, everything about it, and I know what it could do to me, so I stay away. I will show pics of the finished pendant, soon as it's done. Thank you Tom, and thank everyone else for any prayers of strength you can offer up. Marie Would love to introduce her to the rock world, but I think she has enough to deal with right now.

Marie, by all means, introduce her to the rock world. It will give her something to keep her mind off the past. And she'd meet a bunch of people who will give her all the support in the world.
