Hello all knowledgable ones ;D Just a question, my brother brought me back from out west about 10lbs of pet wood. They are big pieces that I need to cut down to fit in the tumbler. I have a workforce saw, will it cut them? I just bought a new blade as the first one did not last that long.
Thanks Tink

If they fit a work force shouldn't have a problem with wood.

Watch for break outs while cutting, so you don't tweak that new blade. Don

Yep, what Don said. Pet wood is often a real blade breaker due to internal fractures. Wear your eye protection too as sometimes those shards can really fly....Mel

Hi Tink,
Just a couple of questions ,
You mentioned the blade wore out quick,
Is this the general "Workforce blade " or a proper Dimond saw blade from say the Rockshed (its the blade that does the work and quality counts)
I presume you are cutting with a water coolant?

If you're blade is wearing out too fast, you may be pushing the rock through too hard. Let the blade do the work and take your time.
You can roll the rocks if the rocks are thicker than the blade will cut.

Thanks everyone for the posts. The original blade on the workforce saw is the one that wore out quickly. It said it was a diamond blade. I did get another diamond blade from home depot. It is a 7" saw not 71/4 and have had a tough time finding new ones. I hope it is a good replacement. Maybe I should go to the rockshed and look at his stuff. I know alot of people here buy from them.
I will take my time cutting the wood, the saw is water cooled. I always wear the safety goggles, even over my regular glasses. I had a fleck of stone get me the first one I cut, learned my lesson there.
Thanks again everyone!
