Part 2 of the trip
Scot told me I had to make a stop in Forsyth, MT to check out the agate shop there. We stopped in on the way up and looked at all the bathtubs of agates that he had for sale. $1 per pound.
A big pile of mudballs that have fossils inside them
I told him I would stop in on the way home and see if we could strike up a deal.
We got there after dark on Sunday so he let us park our camper there and spend the night.
Monday morning we bought some rocks from Perry and loaded them up so we could head for home.
I ended up with 10 mudballs and these 2 bathtubs full of Montana agates
Glad I made the stop, THANKS SCOT!
Anyone who is interested in stopping to see Perry, his shop is 2 miles North of Forsyth, MT on Hwy 12, turn right on to Leary Lane and follow the agate signs to the shop.
Perry's phone number is 406-356-2411, he is a real nice guy and easy to get along with.
Good people to talk rocks with, and if you like horse radish he sells that too!
Got home late last night, we lost the water pump on the way home and limped on home by dumping a couple gallons of water in every few hundred miles. Should have a new water pump here by tomorrow morning.
I spent all day today putting away tools and unloading rocks.
Here is a pic of my rock haul.
10 mudballs
Here is one broken open
The bin of Montana agates
The bucket of Montana Field agates and pet wood pieces
Since some of you asked what they are, here are a few closeups of the field agates (this camera doesn't do closeups very well)
Thanks for lookin.......................Tony
