I am going to be in Scottsdale Az. for the month of February will Be travailing from Michigan down to I-40 and across. probably will make a few trips to Tucson and take I-10 back across New Mexico and Texas then north. anyone have any ideas of what to look for and where? My wife is already having nightmares of me going to the Tuscon shows. (those will be the wholesale ones) thanks for any and all suggestions . RB

Woodward ranch would be a great stop in west texas. Search the board for woodward or ritchie and you'll see the material. It's never too early to start planning (dreaming)

Yep, Woodward Ranch, Stillwell Ranch, or any of the Alpine locations in Texas. Can't speak to AZ or NM.

If you are taking I-40 across......there is some really large quantities of pet wood out by Sedan, NM. I dont know who to contact...or if it good/bad quality, I just know it's there. A friend of mine in Dalhart, TX (bout 20 miles from Sedan) has the wood all over her yard, in her house....just every where. There is a ranch between Dalhart & Raton,NM...on the NM side called Zurick ranch....dunno if theyt will let you hunt there or not, but I know there is Pet wood there as well.
OH! and while I was in TX this summer, found out that the Canadian river section that runs between Amarillo and Dumas TX has a small spread there still open for hunting. If you take I-40 to Amarillo, that turns in to HWY 87 to Dumas, you will drive right over the Canadian river about 15-20 miiles outside of Amarillo. just a thought Marie
