Donnie, just think about this. When I finally found a "standard" for how much time it should take to cut preforms out of slabs for my first saw (Inland swap top), it said it would take an average of 7 minutes per inch....that was for slabs. YUK! Willow creek is a bit harder than the average 7 so it does take longer. You just get so tired of trying to hold it steady to get it though! Cripple creek or any good picture jasper seems to take so much to get it cut also. Tends to try and slip a bit. If you get some slag glass or obsidian, cut a slice after each cut or the harder stuff. May keep your blade working smoothly and not wear it out so fast. I saw that on this board and it really seems to help. I sure love the pieces that you got cut! Fran

OK, thanks! I didn't realize the 2 things I really wanted to cut today were that hard. Some jaspers don't seem to be that bad but those were really kickin' my butt. I did use the obsidian & I cut the glass after the fact. Next time I will do it after I make each cut. I really do like the Willow Creek, that can be some awesome stuff!

They polish up great but take forever to work the scratches out! The results are well worth the effort though. Have fun with them! Fran
