Well, the show is over, here is my booth. I did pretty well. Only sold 4 wire wraps, but I sold a lot of slabs and tumbled stones, and beaded necklaces. I also signed up 11 people for wire wrapping classes. Everyone really liked my wraps, but did not buy them. I had them priced from $10.00 to $65.00. Anyway, while at the show I had a couple come to me and want me to make and wrap a pendant that would look like 2 Feathers, from a slab they brought to me. Their adopted son had recently died and his indian name was 2 Feathers. This is what I came up with. The cab. I have never done anything like this before. The front wrap. not the best lighting, it was raining today. The back wrap. What do you think? Does it look like feathers? They asked for the spiral but a simple wrap.

Wow that is gorgeous. I see the two feathers and the wrap compliments them beautifully. I would almost have added one wire down the middle to separate the feathers a little more. Your booth looks great. Very professional looking.

I actually tried a wire down the middle and did not like it at all. Thanks.

I notched the edges with the 9" saw blade and then put a groove in the top of the stone carefully using the edge of my 220 grit 8" hard diamond wheel. I also used the 220 edge to put the groove in the middle of the stone between the 2 feathers. I decided to put it in the middle of the stone mainly because there is a small drusy at the top of the goove. It looked better if I grooved out the drusy.
The whole time I was saying to myself "careful, you only have one shot at this." I did not have an extra stone. And being a commission piece, it had to work. I did practice this technique on a few junk cabs first. I would have polished it more except that I have worked with this stone before and the opaque parts are rather fragile. I really did not want to risk breaking it by doing more than I had to.

You nailed it! It is beautiful and it will mean the world to the people that asked for it! That is not an easy material to work with either! Can often chip or fracture where the mosses are if it is not silified well enough. Looks like the stone wanted to be two feathers! Fran

OMG, that it awesome! And, yes, it looks like feathers. What an amazing transformaton from rock to feathers. I am sure they will be delighted.
Your booth is really nice, clean and professional looking.

Thanks everyone. I just gave it to them. They absolutely love it. In fact I showed them the 2 practice feathers I made from the rest of the slab. They want me to make ear rings with those even though they aren't the same size. (they are close.) I will post them when they are ready.

You have done an outstanding job on that. It looks just like two feathers. You are so very creative.
