I know it's been a while since I've posted, so I thought to make up for it with a big ol finished batch. It was done a little while back. It came out of a homebrew 60 pound tumbler. By the time I was done, I came away with a little over 35 pounds of finished rocks. Here they are. Thanks for looking ;D Steve The whole batch. First time I saw them in the sun I just wanted to roll around in them: Closeups. 4th of July agate from Jamie/the pile: Big ol tumbled lavic jasper. Misc pretty rocks: Local jasper: Pet wood from Texaswoodie (came out real nice!): Fuzzy picture of tumbled dead cow agate... yes it does tumble! Moss and idontknowbutprettyite: Rocks from Jamie: Lace agate: One of my faves: Texas agate: Closeups. These are really bright: Another large tumbled rock from Jamie's yard/an FRB: Mysterous green agate from the pile: Closeup: More cool rocks from Jamie, including a sweet poppy jasper: Rose quartz: Tumbled limb cast. This stuff is super shiney: Lakers, also super shiney: Closeups: Random pretty rocks. At this point I got tired of seperating them into little piles ;D Rock poupouri:

That is one massive tumbling pile. You have some really beautiful stones in that batch. I can't imagine that many in one batch. My largest is 15 lb and it is generally broken down to the 3 lb'ers when they are ready to move on. Love those Lakers, they are just hard to beat.

There are some very nice stones in that batch. Dang, how many lbs of grit did it take?

Yeah, I was surprised the dead cow tumbled. Some of it seemed soft. It was from a box Tony sent me from the last trip. Lots of different kinds of cow and most of it came out real nice. The whole batch took a couple months between sorting out the weirdos and recharging. The lakers and limb casts I had going separately for a month more just to get past rough. Pretty soon it's on to the next load. And yes, the tumbler goes through grit like crazy, about a quart per stage. But when you get gobs and gobs of pretty rocks you forget all about the grit. Steve
