Today is a great day all - as from the depths of page three on Google, it looks like they have shifted their algorythms and rocktumblinghobby.com is once again top of the billing for the term "Rock Tumbling". It may flip up and down for a few days, but hopefully we will stick at the top long term. This listing effectively doubles visitors to the site each day and is great for people wanting to join the message board. One happy chappie over here.

Cheers It makes all the frustration of search engines worthwhile when people end up using a site. I've checked around and done some more research and things are looking even better for us. Engine and position. FAST (Alltheweb) - Position 1 Google - Position 1 AOL - Position 1 Yahoo! - Position 1 MSN - Position 1 (After 2 paid listings) Hotbot - Position 1 (After 2 paid listings) Ok - I'd say that was a good all round result, basically this is 100% as good as it gets on the net for a website. I think I'll crack open a few cans of beer tonight to celebrate.

Greetings All, WE'RE #1! WE'RE #1! Very good Andy, I anticipate traffic to the site to keep growing until every rockhound knows about rocktumblinghobby.com. Why I bet by the end of this year we may even find ourselves mentioned in "Rock and Gem" or "Rock and Mineral" or, dare we imagine, "The Lapidary Journal"! Maybe before too long you'll have to add new forums and new features and...wait, been there, already done that . Way to go to all of us! WilliamC P.S. Send me your address, I've got some of your favorite carnelian just waiting to be shipped to England, and it's on me.

Andy, this is a really nice board. Far and away the most informative and polite I've ever visited. I've posted more on here in 2 months than I have on others where I've been lurking for 3 years! I don't know exactly how or why you started this, but it certainly seems to have been really well executed and has attracted a good crowd. Applause!
