Hey my uncle gave this to me, he had no info other than it's a 'cab machine'. Anyone familiar with these? Underside thanks!

Sorry Brian, I have no info for you, but it is very neat. I bet that's a fairly portable machine, isn't it?

Yeah it's not too heavy at all. I'm thinking it's gonna be fun to set up and try out.

Ah yes, an old Star Diamond cabbing machine. Haven't seen one of those for many years. One wheel is for buffing, and the others used to take Silicon Carbide sanding discs. I can't remember a whole lot about them, but I think one of the sanding disks could be removed, and a grinding wheel put on for roughing out cabs. If the bearings are still good, you have a nice little variable speed cabber. You should be able to convert it to diamond disks fairly easily.

Standard six inch diamond wheels fit these old machines. One of now deceased club members did all of his cabbing on one of these, and he did a lot of belt buckle size cabs. Woody

These come up on ebay from time to time. Seems like a nice setup because you don't have to change belts/discs.
