Still getting caught up on photographing a lot of my rough and slabbing. I did not get a pic of this rock that I got at one of the Denver shows. I was a few ounces over a pound, and the priuce was $10/lb, but the vendor said he would sell if to $10 even, so I said YES. I saw the nice leaf pattern you see in the two biggest slices (one is the end cut), but it played out as I chased it into the stone. There is some nice blue agate in the brown and gold. I will have to see if those smaller slabbetts inspire me. I expect at least one bolo form one of the bigger slices. Otherwise, not a lot of thinking yet on how to use these.

Hey, Daniel what's the rock with the pink shapes -n- circles -n- stuff? That one rock looks like someone spilt some red paint on it! What is that one?

That is crinoid marble out of China. The US stuff tends to be limestone, but the Chineese stuff is black/gray marble.
I have some 4x4 slabs set aside for a project, but I will cut this hunk right after I change the oil in the LS10. I can send you a piece.
BTW, the goldleaf slabbette on the bottom right is the one I was going to send you.

that whole pile of rock really looks great! How is the gold leaf to work? I would suspect it is messy but with those patterns, it would be well worth any mess! That is going to be a sharp Bolo for sure!
