Thought I'd put up some samples of the many dozens of slabs I've cut in recent weeks. These are just a "drop in the bucket". Hope you like them. Oh, and if you see something you might be interested in owning, please let me know, and I'll post it in the "4 sale" part. That way, we can come to an agreement, without me wasting a lot more space in the forum. At least, that's my thinking on it.
Nephrite Jade - I've cut 4 slabs off this big-ole rock and there is still about 5" of slabs to be cut yet.
Found this at a bead show - an elderly Oriental couple had a little table of beads and another little table with several Howlite rocks for sale. I knew it was Howlite and not turquoise because I asked them. Apparently they tried to make some "pseudoquise" or whatever you'd call dyed howlite, but the dye only penetrated a little bit. I thought it made an interesting slice.
This was a weird-looking chunk of pet wood, don't know where it came from or what species of tree it was, but it made interesting slabs, and fairly solid, at that.
Had a quartzy/agatey-looking rock, ugly on the outside, so I sliced it to see what was inside.
One of the many thundereggs in my pile - this is probably the neatest patterns of the 4 or 5 that I've sliced up so far.
I know this is pet wood - one side still has bark. Don't know what kind of tree, but the patterns really surprised me.
Another really neat thunderegg
Thanks for looking! -- Tom
