Hi All The weather was unusually mild this fall, so I was able to get out with my son late in October and get some Jade hunting time in...we went to the Sage Creek area near Pathfinder...came across a hillside that had a pretty good concentration of Jade...we brought back about 250 lbs. of it.... Most of it is low-medium quality and will end up in the rock garden, but a few show some promise to be higher quality... A few of them were pretty good sized...I left behind several nice looking black specimens that weighed easily over 100 lbs, I'll go back for a few of them next spring.... This one shows some promise....good shape and a nice, smooth, uniformly colored rind...a good indicator that the jade underneith is above average quality for that area...now if I can only get around to getting my saw set back up.... closeup of the rind and jade protrusions on one of the bigger pieces...cool looking piece, and the jade underneith is probably decent quality, but it looks pretty neat the way it is and I'll likely just stick it in the garden.... Kids can only haul jade around so long, then they want to fish instead... my son caught several nice rainbow trout later that day....here he is hauling in the second one he caught.... Beautiful golden sunset over Pathfinder res. later that evening.... And a cool moonrise at dusk the next weekend when we went out again.... hope you all enjoyed the photos... MikeS

Thanks Mel....Pathfinder is a great area....good hunting, fishing, camping, jade hunting, etc...and most of it is remote enough you have large areas to yourself..... we were fishing for walleye, but the trout were ravenous that day...

Looks like a successful trip! Of course I guess anytime you can go out with your kids you can call it successful. Mine are all grown-up and prissies...! Don't wanna get dirty....poor princesses. Thanks for sharing and be sure to show us some slices when you get the saw up and running. Steve

The same here... winter is close. Beautiful jade boulders. That beach looks rich in pretty stones. Your son is a great fisherman. Adrian
