Thank you everyone for your help. With Marie's tips and Chris's tut I think I finally made a good one. I found it easier to weave the bail with Chris's style and Maries idea for the double bail wires. and the back What do you think? I know, I know, It is a bit too fancy for some of you, but the stone is pretty plain. I like to keep most of mine fairly simple, but sometimes I like to get fancy. Thanks for lookin, Amy

Craftsmanship is fabulous. Seems to overwhelm the stone though. Copper color too close to the stone's?? But that is just me, ask Marie - I always complain when the stone gets covered up... Would silver have worked better - to contrast better with the stone? I know there is a cost factor, just two cents. The work itself is great. Nice pics too.

I used copper as this was a practicie piece. I am not comfortable using silver yet for weaving just in case it does not work out right.

I don't get sore fingers from wrapping. But it does keep my nails short.

That looks wonderful. I prefer simple but everyone has different desires for design and how boring would all the same be from all of us?

I think it looks very nice!!! The weave was easier with double bail wires huh? I like it better that way too. When and if you decide to weave with silver, buy 26 gauge, you will really like it a LOT better. I have been using 24 gauge in copper......little harder to do than the silver is. It looks great....keep goin with your own flair! Oh....and NEVER get ruffled by Toad, he do tend to complain when we wrappers cover a stone up too much, hahahaha....but he's honest, and that's what I like bout him!!

Thanks everyone. I knew someone was going to say something about it being too complicated. That's why I mentioned it right at the beginning. It's really hard to ruffle my feathers. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and style. I would ot want anyone to be anything but honest. A critique does no one any good if it is not honest.
I did use 26gauge round copper for this weave. It is much easier than using the 24 which is what I did the first weave with. I used 21G square for the rest of it.
I tried to buy some 26G argentium from rio grande yesterday but they were backordered. Oh, well, gotta wait.

I think you do "got it". Looks really complex and fancy, pretty too. I tried weaving one time but didn't like it so I'll just let you do it and sit back watching the beautiful results ;-)

I think you've got it too! I would never even attempt that! It looks like it would take more patients than I would ever have! You did a great job! Fran
