So...As I was saying...I walked and explored more than I ever have. As I was walking towards the pyramid the wood float was getting more and more. I decided to explore the foothills and lo and behold....the Best Find of the Day! A huge Petrified Wood just waiting for me to come back and get! ;D I'm estimating 300-400 lbs! There was wood everywhere! Another piece I found in the wash. Maybe 100 lbs. 2 more pieces...one which I took. About 40lbs each. I also found another tree buried which I marked with rocks. Hopefully I get here before someone else does! And I did find lots of goodies. Here are just some highlights... An Unusual Wood. Coprolite Close-up of the Best one....reminds me of Morrisonite! Colorful Wood Pieces.. AGATES!!! Yes...I finally found some whole little Agate nodules which show banding....Woo-Hoo! I usually only find small broken bits. A larger one An unknown but it's solid and will make a killer cab Some black nodules which were weathering out of the Brushy Basin formation. Possibly Barite>? Finally probably my most exciting find. It's an Agate which is in my opinion extraordinary! Can't wait to polish it up. It's small but dynamite! Sorry for all the pics...but I sure hope you enjoyed. Too bad I can't snap my fingers and Spring would be here. Thanks for giving me a place to share with a bunch of FRIENDS! Steve

Man Steve, what some spectacular finds! That last agate trumps the rest though! Makes it all worth while, doesn't it?

That "rose" agate is fantastic! I bet the larger agate is going to look really nice polished, too.
Reminds me of my trip to Utah last year. I'd love to go back. Congrats on the great trip!

Man, that pet wood is surely something to come back for! And that agate rose in the last pic is simply fantastic! I think it showed up to you just to keep you excited and not to fall asleep at the wheel on your way back ;D

Great stuff Steve. I love that black and white wood and the agates. A couple of those agates remind me of Yellow Cat stuff but it doesn't sound like you were real close to that spot.

Thanks Everyone! It was a good thing that I decided to take advantage of the late fall trip. We got blasted with winter here yesterday. Brutal cold and snow. Not as bad as it was hyped up to be...but bad enough that most likely I won't get back out to retrieve the wood until late Spring. Steve
