The reason I ask is that the Lower Colorado River Authority is going to lower the level of Lake Austin by 12 feet so they can do some maintenance. I know that when they lowered the water level to do repairs at Lake Livingston, north of Houston, a few years ago, I collected a hundred pounds or more of pet wood and jasper. I don't know if Lake Austin would hold similar riches.
Per the Austin American-Statesman: The Lower Colorado River Authority on Wednesday announced water levels on Lake Austin will be lowered to help control nuisance vegetation.
LCRA says the 12-foot drawdown, requested by the city of Austin and starting Jan. 3, is also expected to allow lakeside residents to build and maintain docks.
The drawdown should take about three weeks. LCRA plans to begin refilling Lake Austin on Feb. 8.

Is it in the city limits? The Austin government in all their glory has passed a law that states all rocks in the city limits belongs to the city. Even on private land. From what I've heard, they will nail you if you break the law.
This is what happens when Liberals run amok.

It sounds like Austin (like Colorado) has been Californicated.
