Love the stuff. I've seen some of these with beautiful amethyst cores in the Thundereggs. Here's a slab I plan to drop on the website in the near future. Oregon has some material which is the same type of formation, however you do not see the colors such as the Mushroom material. Jason

That is nicer than a lot of recent examples on ebay. Seems like there was an initial burst of great quality in right around 2000, and then things fell off quickly. I remember thegemshop had some killer cabs of the stuff on their site. Later stuff did not have as much scalloping mushrooms, and the centers were often pitty. I have 5lbs stashed away somewhere. RedwoodRocks and I got a 10lb piece in 2001 and he cut it in half and sent my half. I never did get around to cutting it. Heres is a killer cab I found online: www.zaharagems.com/servlet/the-192/Mushroom-Jasper-Freeform-Cabochon,/Detail

I'm not exactly sure what the rough looks like - Stoneviews do you have a pic of the rough? I'd love to have more of this material, I especially like the slab that stoneviews posted as the one Thunderegg has been crushed and re-glued, even had a influx of host material filtering into the core. As a geological specimen, that's a peach!
